Native Garden Planner’s Product Hunt launch 🚀

See the page and help bring more people to the native gardening movement

Hi everyone!

Quick note to share some fun news—Native Garden Planner just went live on Product Hunt this morning! 🎉

If NGP has helped you discover plants, plan a bed, or rewild a corner of your yard, I’d be so grateful if you’d swing by our launch page today. Even a simple visit, upvote, or comment about how you’ve used the tool helps more gardeners find us.

A huge thank-you to the nearly 2,000 of you who’ve joined so far, and especially those who’ve shared feedback and ideas—your input has helped shape everything from accurate plant scaling to photo previews and shareable gardens. I’m excited to keep building this with you. 🌿

With gratitude, and as always, happy gardening!

P.S. Native plant fun fact of the day: Virginia sneezeweed (Helenium virginicum) is found only in 2 very specific areas: Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, and the Ozark Highlands of Missouri (over 600 miles away!). This is what’s known as a disjunct distribution, and was likely caused by repeated ice ages forcing the plants to shrink back to the areas that best supported their growth — areas with seasonal ponds that fill with water in the spring but dry out by fall. The two areas left are the last refuge for this incredible endangered plant!
