I’m dreaming big for NGP — and I’d love your input

A few questions for my favorite community of plant lovers

Hi Native Garden Planners!

A friend of mine likes to tell me, with fervor and full sincerity, to practice dreaming big. In that pursuit, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to build a platform that can really support this awesome community, but before I get to the new features, I wanted to ask a small favor of you all.

I really believe building this tool is my ikigai — the intersection of what is meaningful, what my skills are, and what can actually help others. It would be nothing less than a dream to work on this full-time, so I’m trying to gauge interest from the community on a version of the tool that’s worth paying for (fear not, there will always be a free version of the tool too, I promise).

If you have a minute, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the short form below. And, if it’s not too bold to offer, on the off-chance you’d like to support the project now, you can chip in $10 here and get 3 months of the premium when it launches (and I’ll just about cry).

I also want to say I’m once again floored by the emails of support I’ve received from you all — like Emily B who volunteered her gorgeous photography to the catalog, and Dianne G who used this tool to help plan her Lawns to Legumes Grant garden - incredible! Stories like this leave me smiling ear to ear for at least a week, and I love to see the impact we’re all making on the planet.

Thanks all for your time. Happy gardening!

P.S. Native plant fun fact: Wild ginger seeds have a fatty appendage called an elaiosome that ants love. Ants carry the seeds back to their nests, eat the elaiosome, and discard the seeds — helping the plant spread. Nature’s little gardeners!

P.P.S. I’m sorry the buymeacoffee link comes with those suggestion chips that are crazy high — I have tried to edit them but it’s not possible 🫠
